Part-Time Team Member Patient Care Associate – Al-Zaqāzīq
Job Description
PCAs perform technical, multi-skilled, direct and indirect patient care tasks as part of the patient care services team as a whole. A registered nurse assigns assignments to the PCA depending on the patient’s requirements and the PCA’s talents and capabilities. The PCA will notify the registered nurse of any deviations from the anticipated parameters of the patient.

Qualifications:
- Clerical tasks include but are not limited to answering phones and call lights, welcoming patients and visitors.
- Assist patients in obtaining appropriate prescriptions by working with insurance companies and obtaining drug preauthorization. Insurance companies should be contacted if a preauthorization request is denied.
- Make phone calls or answer the phone, arrange up patient appointments, obtain supplies required for treatment, and support clinicians with scribing.
- Participation in seminars, training programs, in-service meetings, and reading contemporary literature enhances personal development. Jointly responsible (with the institution) for the maintenance of abilities.
- Exhibits concern for patient privacy and comfort, as well as an interest in the patient’s success. Explains procedures and processes to patients and their families within the limits of their training and ability. Preserves secrecy.
- Draw blood, operate a centrifuge, collect urine for drug screenings, pregnancy testing, alcohol tests, and administer injections safely and accurately, as directed by the healthcare professional.
- As needed, does general clerical duties. This includes answering the phone and call lights and greeting patients and visitors.
- Support a safe and compliant work environment by appropriately disposing of needles, urine specimens, and collecting cups.
- Ask each patient about their experience and obtain measures such as the patient’s weight, blood pressure, and pulse as part of the nursing assessment.
- Underneath the supervision of a certified nurse, gives basic care to patients. Tells the RN about any changes in the patient’s physical or mental health. Helps the nursing staff deal with patient emergencies.
Skills:
- Certification in phlebotomy from a Department of Health-recognized program that is acceptable to the laboratory director and suitable to the facility’s workload.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written English, Basic Life Support OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Current CPR or BLS certification is required as is expertise delivering outpatient nursing care in either a primary care or drug addiction environment.
- Completion of a facility-based training program in electrocardiograms and basic life support procedures, including certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.
- In order to be considered for this position, you must either possess a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), as well as having successfully completed a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or you must be enrolled in and have successfully completed the first semester of an LPN program or RN program.
