Qualifications:
- Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and Proper Use of PPE are just some of the safety procedures that must be followed on the job (PPE)
- Equipment must be dismantled for inspection and repairs or replacement parts before it can be used again safely.
- Utilize resources and methods such as hardware, software, and components to find solutions. Determine how the machine could benefit from the part’s specifications being altered and offer up some changes.
- Coordination with the software engineering team is essential for producing flawless products.
- Determine the precise dimensions and tolerances that must be met, as well as how to construct the product’s components using a variety of methods and order of operations.
- Turning, milling, drilling, and tapping in sequences of above-average complexity are required to produce required quantities of component components.
- Establishes priorities and schedules tasks in accordance with verbal and written instructions.
- Lathes and mills, and how to keep them running, are crucial tools for this job.
- A machinist’s duties include, but are not limited to, setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine machines, as well as performing standard shop calculations relating to the size of the job, the tooling, and the feeds.
- Check each finished item meticulously to ensure it is defect-free and meets all specifications.
Skills:
- All three types of manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic tools and machinery are required.
- Prior experience as an industrial machinist is preferred. This entails familiarity with machine technology, construction, operation, and power/control devices.
- You must be able to work in temperatures as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.
- Experience equivalent to two years’ work or an associate degree in mechanical or automotive engineering are both desirable qualifications.
- competence in making precise measurements via the use of modern measuring technology (e.g., calipers, micrometers, drop gages, and gage blocks).
