Qualifications:
- Observes and participates in inspections of submitted landscaping, tree removal, and site clearing plans to ensure that they are in compliance with applicable municipal codes and ordinances; coordinates with lower level inspectors regarding site inspections to ensure that the information contained in submitted plans is accurate and up to date; reviews factors and grants or denies applications; provides applicants with written reasons for denial; assigns and participates in inspections of site clearing activities to ensure that work is completed properly.
- Each discipline’s plan review staff consults with the others to make sure that their code requirements are completed without interfering with the tree and landscape code requirements.
- Keeping forestry-related websites current and creating new outreach materials are essential components of many different forestry efforts.
- Assisting with all aspects of silviculture, forest management, and harvest monitoring on business or private holdings.
- Assists and participates in municipal inspections of tree and landscaping installation. Makes sure that the quality, quantity, and type of plant materials used are acceptable; makes sure that the proper procedures for protecting existing and installing new plants are followed; and makes sure that provisions for maintenance and care of plant materials are in place.
- Responsible for general forestry needs such as early-rotation and mid-rotation duties, contract administration, and/or other activities as needed.
- There are a lot of things that this person does for the sale administration of the crop, like make sure the yearly thinning or harvesting schedule is correct, set up the road design and access rights-of-way, and do any other tasks that are needed for this..
- The silviculture plan must be implemented in line with the regional silviculture plan and the yearly plan. Silviculture contract negotiation, operation supervision (including timely status updates for system activity updates), and monitoring of contract performance (including safety and SFI and EMP), production costs, and product quality) are among the other duties of the silviculture coordinator.
- Asses the condition of forestland that is owned by the county and help to write forest stewardship plans that will help guide future restoration and management. Activities include collecting data in the field and analyzing it to figure out the condition of the forest. All recently and recently acquired forestland parcels should be assessed with the help of staff and contractors. They should use the Forest Landscape Assessment Tool (FLAT) to figure out how they’re doing.
- Primary duties include ensuring that the City’s tree stock is in good health and training other Streets Division employees about appropriate tree care techniques.
Skills:
- Having the ability to build and sustain excellent working connections with co-workers, departments, and members of the public.
- In addition to strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Assess the reparability of sick and damaged trees, assess landscaping ideas and make informed decisions regarding their acceptance or rejection. to forcefully, discreetly, and impartially implement laws and norms Set up and manage efficient forestry and landscaping inspection systems. - Tree planting and maintenance techniques, policies, and practices (including wrapping, guying, watering, mulching, and weed control), pruning and trimming, disease inspection and removal needs and choices, and weed control are all essential skills.
- Urban forestry, arboriculture, or a related field from an accredited college or university, and six(6) months of experience in landscaping, forestry, nursery operations, or related work, as well as six months of experience conducting tree and landscape inspections…
