Full-Time Summer Intern- Landscape Architect – Ijebu-Ode
Job Description
You will give professional advice to the department as a Landscape Architect, and you will assist in the examination of planned projects in the city, including Landscape Plans, Irrigation Plans, and specifications. To guarantee compliance with City requirements, you will perform site inspections and offer construction administration. In addition, this role will develop and investigate landscape code updates, collaborate with internal and external divisions, and give design suggestions.

Qualifications:
- Design and create construction papers such as site plans, building construction (including MWELO), grading, drainage, irrigation and landscape plans as well as technical requirements and cost estimates..
- Landscape designers and interns will benefit from this program’s practical teaching and direction in the writing of written reports, meeting minutes, memoranda, and correspondence.
- On-site inspections, punch lists, and installations are all part of the job of a construction administrator. Make sure that the work of subcontractors is done properly; advise clients or construction workers if necessary.
- Prepare plans for landscape architecture projects, such as conceptual designs, design development, construction specifications, construction paperwork, or needs. Plans may include any of these.
- Explore the field and record your discoveries. Review prior reports and data, make an inventory of landscaping and renovations, and take measurements to discover what’s hindering future development and how to fix it.
- Inspects and participates in consultant selection; sets performance requirements, estimates budgets; supervises and organizes consultant activity; analyzes performance and work output; approves progress payments.
- Work with engineers, planners, architects, and agency staff to come up with a design that meets regulatory requirements, gives the client value, and is sustainable and resilient.
- Change orders, RFIs, communication to contractors, construction status, and any other contractor difficulties are among the contract administrator’s responsibilities on given projects. In addition, the contract administrator develops agendas for on-site project construction meetings with inspectors and contractors, as well as examines daily inspection reports.
- Coordinates, supervises, and directs landscape architects and other professionals to complete site and park development projects. Coordination of park consultant procurement and management.
- The job of landscape architects includes construction management and inspection, facility/site condition evaluation, ADA compliance evaluations, and narrative scoping plans for construction projects with program needs and costs estimates.
Skills:
- All levels of government, including the federal, state, and municipal levels, have established a broad variety of regulations controlling a wide range of topics, including soil science, planting, irrigation, and the maintenance of landscapes.
- An understanding of landscape architectural concepts and methods, as well as the proper use of plants, soil, building materials, and other such elements in the planning and execution of landscape projects.
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, or comparable area. One year of relevant experience may replace each year of post-high school education. Additional education may compensate for experience.
- Landscape designers are required to have work experience in the profession in addition to a valid, non-probationary driver’s license from the state of Colorado that is not restricted in any way by alcohol and drug convictions or any other criminal charges.
- Landscape architecture technology, design, and building processes, incorporating certain engineering aspects.
