Job Description
A School Bus Driver transports all kids between home and school in a safe, polite, and timely manner. Transports kids to and from specified stops while keeping a safe and clean environment in line with state legislation and department of education standards.

Qualifications:
- To maintain safety, reduce wear, and prolong the vehicle’s useful life, properly care for the assigned vehicle and its component components as required by the firm.
- In order to keep the bus you have been given safe and clean, it is your responsibility to keep it clean at all times.
- Assist in transporting people to and from specified destinations and associated activities in a timely and safe way.
- Maintain a presentable appearance which includes being properly dressed according to company standards, neat grooming and good hygiene.
- While in possession, keep track of car keys, fuel receipts, pre- and post-trip documents, and turn them in to dispatch as directed by your supervisor.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before to, during, and after each trip, following proper procedures, and completing all required forms and reports. Utilize safe and responsible practices to operate the vehicle and stop to enable people to board and exit.
- Complete inspections of the vehicle before to departure as well as post-departure to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain, read, and understand the route sheets, including time adjustments, and notify the supervisor of any changes quickly. “By adhering to a strict schedule and taking just a few days off each month, you’ll be able to build a robust work ethic.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, passengers, always promoting company goodwill.
- Operate an adapted transportation lift in a safe and responsible manner to board and release disabled individuals.
Skills:
- To be eligible for a driver’s license, you must have three years of verifiable driving experience. There had been no more than two traffic violations and one preventable accident in the prior three years.
- Steps on emergency brake pedal or depresses air brake button prior to students loading or unloading bus, then pulls lever or depresses air brake button to release brake, depending on bus type.
- This role necessitates a team player with the ability to multitask, adapt, and fill in as needed.
- Lift, store, dismantle, and reassemble wheelchairs and other ambulatory devices for passengers weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Be in possession of a current Class B or higher commercial driver’s license with endorsements for both passenger vehicles and school buses.
