Qualifications:
- Installs and repairs sophisticated combinations of couplings, unions, and joints; solders or brazes tubing and pipe; pours lead joints and seats equipment; performs regular inspections and leak detection tests; Installs and replaces components in water heaters, tanks, sinks, showers, and fuel and oil storage facilities using permitted techniques and test equipment in compliance with manufacturer’s requirements.
- Utilizing both hand tools and power equipment, the employee cuts apertures in walls and floors in order to accept pipe and pipe fittings. Pipe cutters, a cutting torch, and a machine that threads pipe are the tools used to cut pipe and thread it. Either by using a machine specifically designed for bending pipe or by laying the pipe over a block and bending it by hand, the pipe is bent to the appropriate angle.
- Hand and power tools are used to assemble and install metal and nonmetal valves, pipe fittings, and pipes, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, as well as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
- Respond to service calls and requests about how to operate, fix, maintain, install, and remove plumbing equipment (including dining specific equipment).
- Installs, changes, and repairs plumbing by identifying and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, and putting hangers. Level and slope pipes, determine valve, trap, and union needs to maintain system efficiency. Tests, fixes, replaces, and installs back flow prevention devices.
- Observes plumbing systems and fixtures to discover breakdowns or faults. Disassembles gadgets and removes pieces. Used components and equipment are inspected for calibration, dimensions, and manufacturer’s standards. Utilizes test equipment or precise measurement devices to test and calibrate systems and equipment.
- Customer care Responding to requests in a timely manner, communicating progress to the client, and following up after the activity is completed are all ways to attain excellence. The task is finished.
- The repair of worn or broken components and the replacement of worn or broken parts of the boiler or accessory are all part of boiler and accessory maintenance. All air-change systems must be maintained.
- Plan and put out plumbing systems and equipment using construction designs, drawings, and sketches. Routes and places systems leading to equipment; connects and tests them. Identifies job-related aspects. Marks pipe and connections in walls and floors.
- Executes planned plumbing equipment inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and repairs in line with plumbing regulations, schematics, operating manuals and manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
Skills:
- Evidence of having completed a four-year recognized apprenticeship program, resulting in the appointment to journeyman plumber.
- An understanding of plumbing methods and regulations, a working knowledge of building codes and concepts and procedures for routine maintenance Water and plumbing system troubleshooting and repair skills
- Possess the information, skills, talents, and physical traits required to execute core job responsibilities, including reading blueprints and engineering drawings, performing mathematical calculations, and using hand and power tools.
- Must be physically fit to operate in pipe spaces between walls and crawl spaces under buildings, from roof tops (vents) to sewage ditches and manholes.
- The same level of education, training, and experience as someone who has finished high school. A technical degree from a college or university that has been approved is a plus.
