Qualifications:
- Ensures that all welding equipment, including fixtures and procedures, is suitable for use via proper management. Prepares plans for the necessary programming, equipment, and personnel to meet production needs.
- Each project’s welding material requirements should be determined, and a Bill of Material should be completed so that it may be obtained in accordance with the schedule.
- To design and carry out development initiatives, it employs scientific and technological principles. Innovation and creativity in the field of specialization are required for a variety of jobs. Usually works in a cross-functional team on large and demanding projects.
- Make repairs by welding (dissimilar metal welds, narrow groove welding, higher alloy-based materials used in nuclear plants, low alloy steels, austenitic stainless steel, low alloy steel)
- Taking the initiative to build mutually beneficial collaborative relationships with customers, technical representatives, and field operations employees who are looking for application-based advanced materials development and deployment is a key responsibility.
- Material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements, as well as unusual production procedures, welding vital junctions and advanced post-heating demands are all covered in this paper..
- Review project specifications and Codes & Standards to develop welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel in relation to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements involving use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements.
- To come up with new welding consumables or welding processes that meet corporate policies/procedures and market demands, you need to work directly with customers, understand industry rules and standards, and know how to make things.
- Conducting and documenting high-quality work, including the collecting and analysis of laboratory data, the development of research projects, and the assessment and application of several research approaches to those projects.
- Serving as a major or sole contributor to the writing of reports, publications, and proposals, as well as helping to write more proposals and ideas for funding from outside sources.
Skills:
- Reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical processes, or government rules. Writing skills are required for reports, commercial communication, and procedure manuals. Capability to present information and reply to queries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and members of the general public.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Welding Engineering with 5-10 years as a welding engineer in a fabrication setting and 5-10 years of experience using AWS D14.9 for the welding of hydraulic cylinders.
- Maintain effective communication with the other members of the team in order to effectively instruct, delegate, and collaborate with the welders and engineering technicians.
- Works directly with the Robotics department to come up with welding solutions that meet the needs of the robot and the job to make things faster and more reliable.
- Establishes welding procedures to assist production and welding employees in the areas of specification limits, material processes, pre and post heating needs, unique fabrication techniques, and crucial joint welding.
