Qualifications:
- Organizes and facilitates safety meetings. Monthly, plans, creates, and provides or organizes the delivery of safety-related training to a number of departments.
- Conduct accident investigations and collaborate with managers and employees to devise measures to avoid future mishaps. Implement the strategy and keep an eye on the results.
- This position necessitates consistent and predictable attendance, as well as the ability to do tasks properly and adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
- Assist with the execution of our safety strategy and zero-accident culture on the project(s).
- Assures that all mandatory safety-related equipment and system testing, inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs are completed on schedule. Ensures that defects are assessed for ILSM risk and addressed in accordance with policy.
- Regularly assess the workplace for dangers and install hazard controls before an accident occurs. Determine whether any staff are engaging in risky safety behaviors and, if so, whether more training is required.
- Hearing conservation, chemical inventory/control, hazardous communications/SDS, ergonomics, and other programs are developed and carried out. Schedules and either offers or arranges for yearly audiometric testing.
- Assist with the updating and auditing of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Lockout Procedures, as well as making sure that employees are properly trained in them.
- Managers and supervisors are counselled and supported in creating a safe workplace. It is advised that safety or hazard control equipment be purchased, used, and installed.
- On topics like worker’s compensation and fitness for duty decisions, employees, supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders are counselled and given technical assistance.
