Qualifications:
- Heating boilers, radiators, valves, pipe circulators, air compressors, condensate pumps, steam traps, etc. Air change system maintenance.
- Building plans, blueprints, and sketches are read and interpreted so that plumbing systems may be routed, sunk, and installed in a proper manner. Completion of the routing and placement of systems leading to equipment; installation of the systems, connection, testing of the systems and equipment; Determines what is needed to complete the project. - A plumber installs, changes, and repairs plumbing by using techniques such as main line location and taping, system routing, opening placement and cutting, and hanger installation. Skills:
- The equivalent of a high school graduation in education, training, and experience. An certified technical degree is desirable.
- In order to become a journeyman plumber, one must successfully finish an authorized apprenticeship program lasting at least four years.
- Must have the physical ability to operate everywhere from roof tops (vents) to sewage ditches and manholes, as well as in pipe spaces between walls and crawl spaces beneath building.
- Know plumbing procedures and regulations, building standards, and maintenance practices. Ability to fix water and plumbing system problems.
