Job Description
Patient treatment is provided to patients on the ground ambulance or in the emergency room. Neonates, babies, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly make up the majority of the patient population. In addition, paramedics serve as mentors for aspiring paramedics and new staff.

Qualifications:
- Climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling items are all examples of physical exercise. Becoming certified, licensed, and knowledgeable in your profession is essential to your success. As a result of patient demand and location, working hours may vary. Overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays may be applicable.
- Completes patient evaluations, reassessments, and resuscitation treatments, including IV fluids, endotracheal intubation, chest decompression, medicine, spine/extremity immobilization, and other life support operations.
- The paramedic must renew his/her license and education. Education will be supplied by the Department, however it is the Paramedic’s obligation to have enough credits for renewal.
- The sick and wounded patients who are in the care of the paramedic will get emergency medical treatment and transportation in compliance with all laws that are relevant, as well as the protocols and procedures of the department.
- Involved in loading and unloading patients from ambulances, planes, and other modes of transportation as well as directing litter staff.
- Paramedics in close communication with the recipient hospital will transmit important information, such as the health state of the patients they are transporting. Consider the legal, moral, and ethical aspects of emergency medical care, and keep a complete record of the patient’s condition and treatment. Paramedics must keep open lines of communication with both the patient and the patient’s family, provide calming words to anxious patients, and show real care and courtesy while handling sensitive patient data. At the receiving facility, help is needed in lifting and moving patients in order to provide proper medical care.
- Constantly evaluates the patient en route to the emergency center and delivers further treatment as required or directed by the physician. Paramedics may use the medical transport settings’ integrated equipment. Observe, document, and report to the physician the patient’s condition or damage, the therapy offered, and any adverse responses to medications or treatment at the emergency scene and during transport to the receiving institution for diagnostic reasons.
- A timely report shall be made to a supervisor by the paramedic on any flaws or mechanical difficulties that may exist with the supplies, equipment, or vehicle that they use. They are going to replenish the unit whenever it is required.
- Patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly, are treated by paramedics in accordance with their assessment. Transfer patients based on their medical conditions and injuries, unless otherwise advised by a doctor.
- During the course of therapy, the practitioner is responsible for monitoring the conditions of patients and, using their professional judgment and previous experience, making any required adjustments to the methods or procedures in order to elicit a favorable reaction.
Skills:
- A comprehensive grasp of paramedic principles, practices, and procedures, as well as how various paramedic equipment, such as a monitor or defibrillator, operate and how to troubleshoot any problems.
- Paramedic certification with a nationwide register. Staff meetings and training workshops are mandated under the company’s policy.
- In the context of providing traditional advanced life support care, the capacity to build trusting working relationships with patients and other members of the treatment team is essential.
- It is needed that you have a high school certificate or its equivalent, and it is strongly encouraged that you have an associate degree in paramedic technology or paramedicine. The successful completion of a Paramedic Training Program that has been approved is necessary in order to get a license.
- The functions of an ambulance include its on-board systems, emergency driving and scene management abilities, radio communications, general patient care treatments, and understanding of pre-hospital equipment.
