Qualifications:
- Conform all loan files, including those for portfolio products, to all applicable agency and investor criteria.
- Analyze credit, income and assets on a loan-by-loan basis to properly assess individual risk, and promptly provide underwriting decisions to Mortgage Originators.
- Analyze and judge assessments based on their usefulness and conformity to norms in the field.
- Prove that you can evaluate an applicant’s creditworthiness on your own using your knowledge of underwriting standards, Bank policies and procedures, and your own expertise and experience.
- Provide exceptional customer care (both internal and external) in a manner that satisfies individual needs of each customer and builds loyalty to Bank.
- Help prevent, detect, and address mortgage fraud by maintaining a thorough familiarity with loan product criteria and business rules.
- Maintain the Bank’s appraisal portal and keep in touch with appraisers about updates or revisions, as well as any additional information that may be needed.
- Verify the property’s legitimacy by looking into the paperwork surrounding it.
- Collaboration, training, and coaching of other teams in regulatory and/or secondary market updates, income analysis, asset estimates, and condominium reviews
- controls the updating of all product guides for the portfolio. Whenever necessary, suggests modifications to the portfolio product manuals.
Skills:

- degree from an accredited college or university in less than four years, or completion of a 64-credit program at a business or trade school.
- Experience in mortgage underwriting, preferably with a time frame of one to three years, or an equivalent mixture of education and experience, is desirable.
