Job Description
The Loan Processor serves as the primary point of communication between the borrower and the Mortgage Loan Operation. The Loan Processor communicates with the Borrower(s) both verbally and in writing. They will evaluate and request papers needed for the underwriter to clear the file for closing, as well as index new inbound documents and place them in the appropriate file locations. When loans are ready to be returned for further examination, the Loan Processor will determine. The Loan Processor is in charge of maintaining their loan pipeline and sending loan status to the Sales people (Loan Officer). As a Loan Processor, you will execute transactions according to prescribed guidelines and timelines, review and validate inputs from other team members, assist your manager in training activities, daily operations reviews, and assist in escalation resolution with the goal of meeting service level agreement targets for the specific process within the guidelines, policies, and norms.

Qualifications:
- Discusses the borrower’s situation with the loan officer and takes steps to get any necessary paperwork.
- Document everything that happens with a loan, from application through payoff. Take ownership of the loan documents from the mortgage loan officer once they have been delivered to you. Take charge as the go-to guy or gal for anyone with an interest in the home loan process.
- checks loan applications for plausibility and, if required, escalates questions to higher-ups for further investigation.
- Inspect each loan file for errors and missing information before forwarding it to closing.
- Conduct Receptionist’s call and letter of intent. It is important to check in with the borrower to see how the loan is progressing.
- Determine which records are necessary and do a last review before adding them to the mortgage loan file.
- Gather all the paperwork for the loan that the automated underwriter will need to verify the information provided and approve the loan.
- It is important to collect and record customer data as soon as possible to ensure timely processing of conforming loan files.

Skills:
- Knowledgeable with consumer mortgage applications and the necessary papers (e.g., complex tax returns, financial statements and records, verification of income and deposits, etc.).
- Working knowledge of real estate documentation, underwriting policies, compliance, and procedures, preferred.
- Has worked with Empower or a similar Mortgage Loan Application and managed many connections with loan officers.
- ability to build rapport with loan officers, producers, underwriters, and closers, as well as other partners inside and outside the company.
- A Mortgage Loan Originator License is essential, and individuals must ensure theirs is active and in good standing with the state.
