Qualifications:
- Learn to read and comprehend drawings and plans of architectural, structural, MEP, and/or sketch types. Check that the field measurements are accurate, and make sure the building’s structure is sound; if there are any differences, notify them to the superintendent.
- Materials that may be used with this tool include wood and plastic. Uses a square, measuring tape, or ruler to plan out work and to measure supplies or distances.
- Display and provide outstanding guest services to all of the organization’s visitors, users, suppliers, and internal partners. Attend and sometimes take the reins of meetings and training sessions pertaining to guests’ services.
- Make sure you understand the significance of layout and accomplish it correctly since it will have an impact on your work for the remainder of the project.
- Lead the workforce and collaborate closely with the subcontractors to make certain that each project is finished on schedule and within the allotted spending limit, as well as the highest quality standards in the industry.
- The incumbent typically plans, directs, and assists with the full range of skilled carpentry work as outlined in the series overview; supervises, instructs, and works with a small group or crew of Carpenters and assistants; instructs others in safety rules and ensures that rules are followed; selects and prepares material lists for jobs; maintains stock materials in the warehouse; inspects carpentry work to ensure it meets quality requirements and specifications,
- Build using multiple materials, goods, and applications (wood framing, metal framing, CDX-walnut veneer, drywall, fiberglass, etc.).
- Work effectively with the designated Project Manager by keeping them informed of progress, discoveries, inconsistencies, and any potential conditions or delays that may influence the project’s budget and/or schedule.
- As instructed by the Facilities Engineer and Lead Carpenter, set up pre-event and support fabrication and facility requirements. Build and retain consumer loyalty.
- Serve as the company’s representative on the worksite, with final responsibility for the quality, safety, budget, and schedule of the project.
Skills:
- A must is the capacity to work outdoors in any weather. Participants in carpools are required to have current licenses and insurance, as well as to meet the underwriting requirements of their insurers. Prior to work, one must be drug-free.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a journeyman carpenter, including work coordinating responsibilities. A thorough grasp of carpentry methods, materials, tools, and equipment, both rough and finished.
- With at least five years of experience as a staff carpenter, the ability to supervise projects or portions of projects is required. Every business has to be able to manage and coordinate its related tradespeople, suppliers, and contractors.
- Possess a working grasp of efficient management approaches and methods. Accurately estimate the cost of a task, as well as the supplies and materials required; develop a list of materials; ensure that work is done in order; keep records; and produce more complicated reports are among the skills required for a project manager to be successful.
- Light commercial construction experience, a high school certificate or GED, and a recognized trade school credential are necessary. People who can lift 90 pounds or more must climb ladders and scaffolds and crawl through narrow areas.
