Job Description
The Budget Analyst role is responsible for conducting a range of financial analysis, variance studies, assisting in the development of planning systems and processes, and providing management with suggestions. Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of financial principles of planning and control, as well as the creation and maintenance of financial systems and predictions. Performs a range of budget control and coordinating duties.

Qualifications:
- Performs financial planning, budget creation, execution, and monitoring, managerial cost accounting, financial analysis, financial management systems, financial risk analysis, other financial reporting, and management controls to support functional initiatives.
- It is your obligation to keep your immediate work area clean and orderly in order to preserve your safety and the safety of your coworkers. Any potentially hazardous conditions or conduct will be reported to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. They will immediately correct any dangerous conditions to the best of their ability.
- Process, monitor, and manage departmental budgets using the ARF (Employee Request) database and PeopleSoft accounting software (Hyperion).
- Participates in the collection and analysis of financial data for all offices as well as competitive benchmarking within the legal services sector by using the analyst’s current market knowledge base.
- Provides financial monitoring of agency operations, performance assessment, assistance for activity-based cost management, control evaluations, and reviews of management and internal controls. Responsible for regularly monitoring operational budgets to detect and evaluate trends influencing budget requirements.

- Charge-backs, inter-departmental reclassifications, and monitoring of consignment cash receipts are all handled via a slew of spreadsheet-heavy processes. For the monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget meetings, this helps to create reports.
- Meets with relevant employees on a regular basis to examine different departmental tasks and data.
Skills:
- Working with computer key boards requires standing, prolonged sitting, eye acuity, hand dexterity, and fingering.
- Expertise in financial and accounting models and cash flow analysis and planning for businesses of all sizes.
- A bachelor’s degree and one or more years of expertise in budget administration, accounting, or budget forecasting, modeling, with experience and understanding of government, grants, and fund accounting.
- The applicant must be adept in using MS Excel and MS Access accounting software and have great communication skills with all department level management, both verbally and in writing.
- Maintaining a productive and devoted effort, meeting deadlines, and managing one’s workload in the face of fluctuating priorities.
