Job Description

Working directly with site visitors to offer assistance for computer, software, network, mobile, and tablet services is the responsibility of the IT technician. With IT expertise, this role can be flexible. This job supports site management, administrative staff, and executives throughout the business and reports to the Data and Systems Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Works with the Customer’s Desktop Supervisor and Training Supervisors to provide written reports and documentation as required. Installation of a new desktop or laptop computer.
  • Repairs and replaces faulty assemblies or components in computers, printers, and networks. When necessary, installs new operating systems, hardware drivers, and software programs.
  • To assist in the resolution of issues, accessing the appropriate software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the internet might be helpful.
  • Provide more sophisticated assistance with computers with the objective of identifying the cause of the problem and finding a solution that is as fast and as painless as it can be.
  • End users should be documented and “how-to” manuals for troubleshooting should be provided. Involve yourself in cyber and information security measures.
  • Monitor several systems, including Windows Perfmon and SolarWinds. Internal documentation of processes and procedures should be established and maintained.
  • The IT Support Supervisor should be kept updated on the progress of the problem-solving process, as well as any successful or unsuccessful decisions made.
  • Perform post-resolution follow-up, with users and supervisors, to confirm that the issue has been appropriately fixed.
  • Install and upgrade software, conduct file backups, and configure systems and applications with your own two hands.
  • End-user help desk tickets, such as computer hardware or software difficulties, new equipment setups and installs, software installations, moves, decommissioning, phone and fax issues, etc., are handled by the help desk staff.

Skills:

  • Software for a help desk, databases, a remote control, the ability to interact with customers, and good communication skills in troubleshooting and being able to multitask
  • An associate’s degree in computer science, technology, or IT is desirable. 1+ years of AWS, Microsoft Office, internet browsers, mobile apps, disaster recovery, and VMware preferred
  • Perform non-technical tasks with a wide range of people from the company and the outside world, at various levels of knowledge and skill.
  • Capacity to grasp, read, write, and communicate effectively in English, as well as the ability to connect with members at all levels of the organization, Capability of swiftly adapting to different business environments and to the introduction of new systems
  • It is desirable that applicants have expertise working with Microsoft Office products, browsers and internet-related apps, mobile devices, printers, toners, PC and Mac operating systems, computer hardware, and other types of general technical experience.
