Qualifications:
- Creates and maintains correspondence, reports, activity logs, activity books, tables, coding manuals, and automated databases that are relevant to accounting procedures and activities.
- Assist with the closure of the month’s accounts, including the creation and entry of journal entries.
- Record financial and accounting transactions in different financial information systems.
- Verify invoices from the vendor or utility company against the packing slips and purchase orders you’ve obtained.
- Finds, investigates, and reports any problems with systems, documents, or accounting that come up while getting ready for and doing an audit.
- Verifies and uploads information on business transactions inside a firm division, such as money received and paid out, and conducts an exhaustive audit of supporting documents.
- Offers technical assistance and aids in the evaluation, development, and planning of new systems and programs as well as in the upgrades of those that currently exist.
- Accounts and activities associated to complicated projects are audited, reconciled, processed, and reported on.
- Checks accounting source papers for correctness, completeness, and adherence to departmental and statewide laws, regulations, and agreements.
- Check for conformity with necessary calculations, signatures, codes, and rules/regulations.
Skills:
- One year of experience utilizing an automated information system to input, modify, delete, retrieve/ask about, and report on data.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer information systems, business administration, economics, finance, or a related field.
- One year of expertise in the processing of financial transactions in areas like accounting, payroll, taxes, and audits.
- Being able to compute numbers and sums, including discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide must be very strong.
- Six months of expertise establishing financial transactions’ conformity with needed documents, calculations, codes, signatures, and rules/regulations.
