Patients’ service revenue may be collected, managed, and audited by the Medical Office Manager. The attainment of yearly and recurring objectives for major statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance and for the overall financial performance of the firm is a critical responsibility. All of the department’s work must meet the Medical Office Manager’s high standards of excellence as shown by his or her objectives and actions. Consistency of purpose and ongoing improvement are key components of this standard, as is providing the best level of quality service possible to customers.

Qualifications:

  • Manages daily operations and organizes work activities at physician offices and clinic locations. Schedules and call-offs are managed by this position. Assures that enough office space, supplies, equipment, and support are available and maintained for medical personnel and patient care.
  • Make it easier for physicians and nurses to communicate with one another and to conduct their jobs more efficiently. Customer service and professionalism are inseparable.
  • Cost center salaries and direct expenses, month-end financial reporting, receivables levels (days in A/R and aging), cost center productivity, and any long-term strategic plans for the department are some of the financial forecasts that you will help with.
  • Collaborates with senior management to develop budgets and to ensure that operations are aligned with organizational goals, as well as meeting performance and budget targets.
  • All payments from the Provider Dispute Process should be completed after initial processing and contact with outside payer organizations to address reimbursement difficulties should be made as soon as possible.
  • In your work as a support for doctors and patients, you will be expected to conduct a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
  • Requirements-based inventory management of office and medical supply items. With the Clinic Administrator’s help, assists in the budget preparation and implementation.
  • Ensures compliance with all system-wide/departmental policies and procedures, including safeguarding patient confidentiality, as well as compliance with the requirements of competent regulatory bodies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, Department of Health, etc.).
  • Directly collaborate with the IT department to develop and verify the correctness and authenticity of financial reports.
  • Staffing satellite sites with qualified candidates and training them, as well as overseeing their performance assessments, merit raises, promotions, and disciplinary actions are among the responsibilities of this position.

Skills:

  • The Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) certification must be obtained within one year of starting a job in medical staff management and must be kept up to date with the correct continuing education credits (CEs).
  • Understanding of the rules and procedures of the company and the capacity to apply concepts to various challenges encountered on a daily basis
  • Patient registration, billing, accounts receivable (AR), and cash management needs, as well as health insurance procedures, business office operations, and industry standards for revenue resolution strategies in the health care sector, must all be acquainted to the prospective employee.
  • Organization and communication skills are important, as are strong attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple projects while keeping deadlines and priorities in mind, the ability to keep information private when dealing with sensitive information, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with staff, providers, and patients.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in the English language in order to fulfill the fundamental responsibilities of this position, particularly when dealing with actions that have an influence on patient or employee safety or security.
