Job Description

The Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital’s administration as a leader and manager. The Practice Manager works in tandem with the attending physician to ensure a smooth and profitable operation through the generation of revenue and the control of expenses, as well as the development of a service-oriented and compassionate hospital culture. Management, planning, and coordination of the entire hospital, as well as the promotion of a positive and productive working atmosphere, are under the purview of the hospital administrator. The capacity to multitask, along with great people skills, positivity, compassion, initiative, problem solving, and common sense, are all necessary for this role. As important as technical proficiency is, the ability to empathize with and effectively communicate with customers is crucial. You will also be accountable for delivering HR support to external customers and suppliers. It’s possible that you’ll have to teach veterans new tricks, and you might even have to mediate disputes between staff and customers.

Qualifications:

  • You need expert knowledge of software systems to efficiently collect, store, and retrieve data for managerial reporting.
  • Work with HR to identify, probe, and address personnel concerns in the recruiting, retention, and termination of staff.
  • Maintain a risk-free workplace by adhering to all applicable office safety policies and procedures and all applicable local, state, and federal health and safety rules and laws.
  • The Practice Manager works closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure the smooth running of the office.
  • process analysis and implementation for office activities like payroll processing, cash handling, and invoice handling.
  • Create and carry out office budgets, and oversee the purchase of standard office supplies and equipment
  • Supervise employees and ensure that they are meeting daily objectives in their clinical, administrative, and billing roles.
  • Maintain an office environment that ensures optimal patient care and customer service.
  • Organizing employees’ time off, covering for absences, and handling mandatory trainings and seminars.
  • Liaise with the hospital to support problem resolution and goal setting in collaboration with Clinical and Practice Management Leadership.

Skills:

  • Qualifications equivalent to two or more years of office management experience will be considered.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, be able to solve problems independently, and have the courage to face and resolve conflicts within the team.
  • Direct supervisory experience preferred along with at least three years of relevant work experience in the health care, veterinary, or service industries (includes hiring, associate development, etc.).
  • Must have the ability to manage all departmental functions and have the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) with patients, doctors and other departments.
  • Be familiar with HR fundamentals such as record keeping, confidentiality, and employment laws.
