Job Description
The Financial Controller supervises all accounting and financial operations as a member of management. Primary tasks include overseeing daily and period-end operations, Period, Quarter, and Annual reporting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll Processing, Treasury functions, GL Activities, and reporting. The Financial Controller creates and implements company-wide processes.

Qualifications:
- Reacted to Property Management’s requests at all levels, including the creation of particular reports, financial analysis and system identification.
- Performs data research and analysis in order to generate reports that assess aspects such as profitability, return on investment, and costs. In order to support the conclusions and suggestions, a comparison of financial and informational data is performed.
- Staying on top of existing and upcoming legislation is essential in order to remain in compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations. This includes forecasting new legislation.
- Establishes and maintains rigorous accounting controls to guarantee compliance with all internal and external regulatory bodies’ regulations.
- Examines and analyzes budget and financial data, as well as creates and generates financial plan adjustments and suggestions. Communicate and distribute information/results to internal management and the parent firm.
- Sets in place proper accounting systems for revenue recognition and expense accruals that are sufficient to ensure that the company’s assets are managed effectively
- As required, study, plan, and execute Finance Department projects, such as software and system installation and departmental or firm-wide enhancements.
- Work with internal constituents and external tax advisors to guarantee proper and timely preparation of tax returns and quarterly tax distributions in accordance with local, state, and federal government laws.
- Establishes preventative maintenance standards, evaluates new equipment, and negotiates service contracts to ensure that all gear is in good working condition.
- Directly involved in all aspects of day-to-to-weekly-to-monthly bookkeeping in order to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and tracked.
Skills:
- This profession requires a bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, or finance. Master’s degree or professional certifications are desired (such as a CPA or CMA).
- Applicants must have completed four years of college with a degree in accounting or have experience that is comparable. A minimum of five years’ worth of experience in accounting or a similar field, with at least one year spent in a supervisory role.
- Proactive: A self-starter who is able to solve difficulties and do tasks without continual supervision. Continually pursues greater duties while seeking and responding to criticism.
- Plans, monitors, and evaluates finance staff work performance.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting, audit, and financial experience with corporate taxes knowledge.
