Qualifications:
- Displaying proper oral hygiene, questioning patients about their own home care routines, and instructing patients on how to brush and floss effectively are all effective ways to promote great dental and general health.
- Proactively adheres to all aspects of a compliance program, such as completing training and reporting any suspected infractions to the proper authorities.
- Help dentists with operative, endodontic, oral surgery, orthodontic, pedodontic, prosthodontic, and periodontal procedures using four-handed dental assisting techniques. Duties include performing oral evacuation, fabricating temporary crowns and custom trays, taking impressions, mixing cements, and assisting in the application of light-cured material.
- Maintains dental supplies inventory by conducting stock audits to assess inventory levels; planning ahead for anticipated needs in dental supplies; making orders for dental supplies and ensuring their prompt delivery.
- Transferring equipment and supplies to the dentist during treatments, collecting x-ray photographs of patients’ teeth, producing plaster models of patient teeth, and a range of other chores are all part of a dental assistant’s job description.
- Assists in managing patient records by acquiring dental records, interviewing patients about their medical history, and documenting the information for the dentist’s reference.
- Avoiding waste and duplication of materials is a good way to make the most of your resources. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure that all dental equipment is working properly.
- Carry out routine maintenance duties, such as oil changes or refueling the vehicle or repairing brake lights, on the vehicle’s exterior and interior.
- Assists patients in feeling relaxed and at ease before, during, and after dental treatment by providing oral care advice. Assists with office duties, including ordering supplies, etc.
- Staff personnel greet patients in the waiting area and transport them to the surgical room. At the dentist’s request or advice, a hygienist assists in the delivery of therapy.
Skills:
- A valid X-ray license is among the preferred credentials. The ideal applicant must be fluent in English and have previous experience working in a mobile dental practice.
- a familiarity with managing databases on computers, Capacity for reading, writing, and the calculation of mathematical figures, A working familiarity with the primary responsibilities, activities, and protocols of a dental office or clinic.
- Assisting a dentist utilizing four-handed dental assisting procedures using sterile techniques and exposure control measures.
- Six months of experience demonstrating the applicant’s ability to execute the job or providing familiarity with the job is required. Qualification is based on equivalent mixes of experience and education.
- Having a high school graduation or equivalent, as well as passing the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certification, is desirable.
